What's Next for the Apparel Line?

I can’t think of too many career moments that are more exciting to me than approving a set of garments to production. The amount of work that goes into designing, developing, fitting and adjusting those pieces until you are truly happy with them is staggering. So when you reach the day of everything looking and feeling just right, it is so rewarding to check those boxes and hand them over to the production team.

I am so excited to announce that we are just now hitting that point in the RTQ Apparel timeline! Base size garments are here for final review, fabric is officially delivered at the factory in LA, trims are all developed and quantities are ordered. We’re not 100% ready to proceed with production, but we are damn close!

Here is what we have coming up next and our new timeline for launch:

November 30, 2022: Threads to be Purchased and Shipped to the Factory

• I decided that I needed to use special stretch threads on my garments to prevent any seams from popping or threads from breaking. This is an extra step I wasn’t planning for at first, but it is absolutely the right decision for the product to be the best possible quality.

November 30, 2022: Packaging to be Ordered 

• Hangtags, stickers, boxes and mailers will need to be ordered and ready for me to personally pack up each future customer’s order in the Spring. I’ve decided to do all of this myself so I can directly get to know the customers’ needs and comments while learning about the process to eventually hand it off with knowledge and experience someday.

December 2, 2022: New Branding and New Website Launch

• I’ve been working with the amazing Baylee Buchanan at Buchanan Design to create a new look for the apparel line. We wanted the Shopify website to look sophisticated and clean to emulate the high quality, classic look of the apparel itself. We’ll be sending out new website links and updating all of our branding assets to follow the new direction by this date!

January 15, 2023: Pre-Sale Begins

• In mid-January, we are going to open up the website to pre-sales of the order in works. If you want to guarantee that you get one of the first sets of baselayers, make sure to pre-order before they sell out! We only made 200 units of each item, so they will go quickly.

February 5, 2023: Wear Test / Ambassador Program Begins

• For those of you who have signed up for the wear testing program, we’ll be reaching out to you soon to give you all the details! For now, we can just say that the testing period will begin in early February and will last for a full month.

April 9, 2023: GO LIVE!

• Inventory should be in-stock and ready to purchase online by the beginning of April! Pre-orders will be fulfilled first, and then we’ll open it up to the public. This is when the fun really begins.
